Main Character Energy in Algarve

Okay but… Algarve in August?? Literally felt like I was walking on the sun, but honestly, I wasn’t mad about it. I spent two dreamy days soaking up golden beaches, eating way too much and pretending I was the main character in a summer movie. When I say Portugal was givinggg,,,,I mean sun, sea, and soft life vibes — and I’m here for it.

DAY 1: Dolphins, Thrills & Dinner Feels

Algarve really said 'let’s make this a core memory.' So we spent the day at Zoomarine, in case you didn't know already, this is basically part theme park, part aquarium, and part “me living my best childhood fantasy. From rides to water attractions, we explored it all, but in my opinion the dolphin show stole the spotlight! After soaking up the sun (and probably 5 liters of water), we headed back to our hotel (Jupiter Algarve Hotel.) Dinner felt extra magical — maybe it was the food, maybe it was the post-theme park glow — either way, it was the perfect ending to a hot summer day.

Caves, Kayaks & Coastal Main Character Moments

This day was giving straight-up Pinterest board come to life. Who doesn't love a boat day?! We hopped on a boat + kayak tour to explore the Algarve coastline, and it was unreal. Just imagine turquoise water, golden cliffs, and us paddling into hidden caves and secret beaches like we were in some cinematic travel edit. The Benagil Cave? Yeah… she’s that girl. I think this is obvious but did I take about 300 aesthetic pics?... YES (I have no regrets). After some much-needed rest, we did a golden-hour beach stroll — half for the experience, half for the vibes — before grabbing souvenirs (I gift-shop like a pro!). The night wrapped up with our final dinner at a cozy Italian restaurant, and honestly? It was the perfect main character farewell scene to end the trip.

I’m just so grateful I got to experience Algarve the way I did. From dolphins to hidden caves to golden sunsets, it honestly felt like a little reminder to slow down and romanticize life wherever you are, which was exactly my goal for this trip. Trips like this aren’t just about travel — they’re about memories, laughter, and those random little moments that stick with you forever. Portugal gave me all of that, and I’ll forever keep this summer adventure as one of my core memories.

Stay tuned for the next travel diary :)
